Department of War Financial Audit

The Department of War (DoW) Financial Audit has been established by Deputy Secretary of War to direct actions across DoW to achieve a clean audit opinion. With support from all Secretaries of the Military Departments, each military service will provide personnel to support the audit.

With experts pulled from every service to support, the DoW Financial Audit will:
(1) Obtain an unmodified (clean) audit opinion on the consolidated Defense Working Capital Fund and General Fund financial statements; 
(2) Eliminate legacy financial systems and maximize use of artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics/Advana to resolve audit issues; and;
(3) Move toward an integrated financial system for the Department, with sufficient internal controls to pass a controls-based audit.

Staff the Experts
Pulling experienced personnel from financial management, logistics, and acquisition career fields, we’ll increase personnel to speed up efforts and spread what’s working across components to Department-wide.
